MappingAlcohol-induced ataxia left Sarah unable to recover when someone pushed past her on their way to the bathroom. Her feet tipped, her legs buckled, and she found herself with an eye level four inches above the laminated wood flooring. She followed the lines of the wood floor like a hundred arrows traversing the room under sandals and sneakers and boots and socks, but she couldn't figure out what they were pointing at or where they were trying to lead her. She lay there, calmly telling herself that it was all neurotransmitters and trying to remind herself of the three most affected by alcohol consumption. &Mapping
A Warm DayIn a nearly silent neighborhood, the pavement glistens like wet tar from the drops of water resting in its crevices and reflecting the angled sunlight in millions of tiny prisms. A public bus rumbles through, grunting and creaking its way, and then comes to an abrupt stop. Its doors moan as they swing open, and, piece by piece (feet clad in high heels, legs long and pale under a turquoise pencil skirt, well-pressed satin blouse clinging to her torso, and caramel hair pulled back smooth into a bun), a woman emerges. She steps up the curb, onto someone's immaculately green lawn, and her heels sink slowly down inA Warm Day
Fruits And DreamsAt approximately four AM on the nineteenth of July, Eleanor Rose Hall dreamt of her teeth falling out. They simply slipped out of her gums, leaving her mouth raw and vaguely sore, her lips overlapping and her tongue, now freed from its cage, unsure of what to do. She wanted to pick them up and put them back into their sockets, reattach them somehow, but they were nowhere to be found, so she mashed the flesh of her empty gums together and accepted the loss.
